How Can Osteopathy Support Women’s Health?

Women’s health is a complex and multifaceted aspect of healthcare that deserves special attention. While traditional medicine has its place in addressing various women’s health issues, there’s a holistic and gentle approach that often goes overlooked: osteopathy.

Women’s Health Treatment at Active Care:

Pregnancy & Postpartum

Osteopathy can be particularly beneficial during pregnancy. Osteopaths can help alleviate discomfort and pain associated with pregnancy, such as back pain and sciatica. They can also assist in preparing the body for childbirth. Additionally, postpartum osteopathic treatments can aid in recovery and address any lingering issues.

Menstrual Health

Many women experience menstrual discomfort and pain at different stages of their lives. Osteopathic techniques such as soft tissue manipulation and gentle stretching, can help relieve tension in the pelvic area, reduce menstrual cramps and ease pain often felt by women with Polycystic ovaries.

Hormonal Imbalance

Hormonal imbalances can affect a woman’s overall well-being. Osteopathy can address the physical symptoms of hormonal issues, such as headaches, muscle tension, and digestive problems. Osteopathy promotes better circulation and relaxation needed by many women.

Breast Health

Using Osteopathy techniques, our team here at Active Care can help improve lymphatic drainage, which is crucial for maintaining healthy breast tissue. Breast health is a significant concern for women but trust that our team can help ensure you remain happy and healthy.

Osteopathic Obstetrics

Osteopathic obstetric care focuses on optimising the mother’s health during pregnancy to enhance the well-being of both the mother and the baby. This approach considers the body’s structural balance to support a smoother pregnancy whilst preparing for childbirth. After Childbirth it is common for us to treat both mother and baby, to help them recover effectively, especially when their have been complications, quick deliveries or Caesarean sections.
